Police foil two attempts to smuggle alcoholic drinks

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) foiled two attempts to smuggle alcoholic drinks into the Sultanate. 

The ROP said, "Musandam Governorate Police Command arrested a truck driver of Asian nationality while trying to smuggle alcoholic drinks to the Sultanate by hiding them with other goods. More than 100 bottles and cans of alcoholic drinks were found in the possession of the driver."

In another case, Al Dhahirah Governorate Police Command arrested an Asian for transporting alcoholic drinks in a vehicle for selling purposes. During a raid, alcoholic drinks were also seized from his residence."

Legal procedures are underway against the accused.
