Omani students enrolled in Jordan get lesser institutional quarantine time

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has issued a notice for Omani students who study in Jordan.

The Ministry said in a statement: "All Omani students studying in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to note that the Jordanian Ministry of Health has issued a decision to quarantine foreign students entering Jordan for one week. This is provided that a PCR examination report, not more than 72 hours before arrival is presented and an examination is conducted upon arrival and before leaving the institutional quarantine to ensure that they are not infected with the coronavirus."

"All students wishing to return to study in Jordan must communicate with their educational institutions to find out more information about study procedures," the statement added.

Students in Japan to undergo two-week quarantine

Meanwhile, students who have enrolled for study in Japan will have to isolate themselves for a period of two weeks at hotels, the Ministry said.

"Omani students returning to Japan with a valid residency, will have to provide a PCR test report not older than 72 hours before travel and commit to isolating themselves for two weeks at hotels on arrival."

Applications for return to Japan can be submitted for approval at the Japanese embassy in the Sultanate. For those already in Japan, permission has been granted for travel with the possibility of returning to Japan after completing re-entry procedures. "New students are excluded from the decision," the Ministry said.
