Plasma donations needed from recovered Covid-19 patients in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Health has appealed to the recovered coronavirus patients to donate plasma that will be used to help patients suffering from Covid-19.

The ministry said: "The need for immune plasma is still urgent, as it is used be as part of the treatment protocol for some critical cases of Covid 19 patients. Take the initiative to donate plasma."

 

"For inquiries or to book an appointment for a plasma donation, please contact us via WhatsApp 94555648." The ministry added.

 

In the previous press conference, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Said, said: "The number of plasma donors during the month of August reached 221 and since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of donors has reached 911, who donated more than 2,011 units."

 

It is worth noting that one recovered person can contribute to the treatment of three Covid-19 patients by donating immune plasma. Where the immune plasma contains antibodies that support the patient's immune system.
