Muscat: The Sultanate ranked first globally in the ratio of science and engineering graduates and ranked sixth in government spending per student.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, said: "Oman achieved grade one globally in the ratio of science and engineering graduates out of the total number of graduates."
"The Sultanate achieved 24th rank globally in the school education index despite its decline by 14 places from 2019. The Sultanate also achieved grade sex globally in government spending per student in the education sector," the ministry added.
According to the ministry's statement, "The Sultanate also fell eight global seats in higher education from a ranking in 2019, to be ranked 12th in the world in 2020. In addition, It achieved 30th rank globally in the ease of establishing start-up companies."
The Sultanate also ranked 24th globally in the percentage of foreign direct investment inflow and in the Industrial Clusters Development Index, Oman ranked 27th globally.
Moreover, "It achieved grade 38th globally in the Innovation Correlations Index in the Research Cooperation Index between the academic and industrial sectors," the statement added.
