Child suffering from pulmonary failure syndrome and COVID-19 recovers

Muscat: Rustaq Hospital has registered the first case of recovery in the Sultanate of a child with pulmonary failure syndrome associated with COVID-19.

A statement issued online by Oman TV said, "The Sultanate registered first recovery case of a child with pulmonary failure syndrome associated with COVID-19."

Dr. Ahmed Al Farsi, pediatrician and Intensive Care specialist at Rustaq Hospital said, "Acute pulmonary failure syndrome is a rare complication of Corona disease, especially among children and it has been monitored and treated in the case of the child."

" Corona disease affects children less severely than adults, but a small percentage of children have symptoms very severe that they require admission in intensive care. High temperature in children and digestive symptoms are among the important signs associated with Corona disease in children," he added.
