Production of red meat reach 47,000 tons in 2019

Muscat: The local production of red meat in the Sultanate reached 47,000 tons by the end of 2019.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said, "The local production of animal products in the Sultanate by the end of 2019 reached about 47, 000 tons of red meat, 101,000 tons of fresh milk, 129,000 tons of poultry and 427 million eggs."

"The statistics contained in the statistical yearbook issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the number of animal heads in the Sultanate reached by the end of 2019, about 405 thousand heads of cows, 273 thousand heads of camels, 617 thousand heads of sheep, and two million and 348 thousand heads of goats," the statement added.
