Sultan's armed forces head to Dhofar Governorate ahead of tropical storm

Muscat: The Sultan's Armed Forces head to Dhofar Governorate and confirm their readiness to deal with the upcoming tropical storm.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Defence said, ”The Sultan’s Armed Forces confirmed their complete readiness and harnessing their capabilities to contribute to dealing with the tropical storm that the Sultanate is expecting on Thursday on 6th August.”

The statement completed, ”This comes within the framework of the efforts of the Sultan's Armed Forces and all other departments of the Ministry of Defence to provide support to all government military, security, and civil authorities, and other sectors of the Sultanate.”

The statement said also, ”The Sultan's Armed Forces have taken all preparations from the announcing this tropical situation, by activating their plans and developing them according to this tropical case to provide support and assistance.”

“As the Sultan's Armed Forces weapons represented in the Royal Oman Army, the Royal Omani Air Force And the Royal Oman Navy, in addition to the engineering services at the Ministry of Defence head to provide support and assistance to citizens and residents in the governorates and the Wilayats that are expected to be affected by the tropical weather through sub-military committees to deal with emergency situations,” the statement added.
