Beirut blast: HM sends condolences to Lebanese President, wishes injured speedy recovery

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik made a phone call to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Wednesday, expressing grief over the death of people and wished injured a speedy recovery.

A statement issued by Oman News Agency (ONA) says, “His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik made a phone call this afternoon to President Michel Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, during which His Majesty expressed his sincere condolences to the Lebanon President and the brotherly Lebanese people for the victims of the explosion that took place at Beirut Port, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.”

The statement added, “His Majesty also expressed the Sultanate's solidarity with the Republic of Lebanon at this juncture, calling on Almighty so that the Lebanese people overcome this ordeal, and be blessed with peace and lasting stability, and avoid all misfortune and harm.”

“On his part, the Lebanese President thanked His Majesty the Sultan for his noble feelings and appreciated the Sultanate’s stand and solidarity with the Lebanese Republic,” the statement added.
