Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,459.20 points, up 0.23 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia index ended down by 0.15 per cent at 519.33 points Oman United Insurance, up 5.42 per cent was the top gainer while convertible Aman Real Estate, down 8.0 per cent was the top loser. National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 365 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.9 million, with more than 9.98 million shares changing hands. Out of 44 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 9 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR757,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR656,00 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR101,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed up by 0.49 per cent at 5,497.66 points. Oman United Insurance, National Bank of Oman, Gulf Investment and Al Omaniya Financial were up by 5.42 per cent, 3.03 per cent, 1.64 per cent and 1.43 per cent respectively. Ahlia Bank and Bank Nizwa were down by 1.60 per cent and 1.02 per cent.
Industrial Index closed at 3,939.83 points, down 0.17 per cent. Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 2.17 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, Oman Flour Mills and Raysut Cement were down by 2.22 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 0.99 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.06 per cent before closing at 1,536.70 points. Al Batinah Power, Phoenix Power, Ooredoo and Omantel were up by 1.92 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. Renaissance Service, Sembcorp and Dhofar Generating were down by 1.06 per cent, 0.92 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
