Muscat: The Consumer Protection Department in Barka imposed administrative fines amounting to OMR 1,850 against a number of commercial establishments for violating the Consumer Protection Law.
According to a statement by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), two pharmacies which were selling a particular type of mask at a higher price were caught and fined OMR 500 each. In another complaint made by a customer, a fine of OMR 200 was imposed on a different commercial establishment for a difference in the price charged and billed.
The PACP warned all merchants and suppliers to adhere to the provisions of the law to ensure customer rights.
