Oman to start national Covid-19 survey

Muscat: A national survey for Covid-19 will be started from Sunday 12th July, the Oman News Agency (ONA), announced.

A statement issued online by the ONA said, "The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, will begin from tomorrow, a national survey serological survey for tracing the Covid19 infection. The study will be conducted in four phases ."

"Each phase will take five days and be separated from one another by two weeks totalling a period of ten weeks."

"Approximately 5000 samples will be examined per phase. 380 to 400 samples per course from each governorate, with a total of 20,000 samples during the survey period."

"The survey will include all governorates and states of the Sultanate and will be in the form of a cross-sectional survey, provided that samples are chosen from all citizens of different ages, including expatriates," the statement added.
