Oman Air suspends flights to Pakistan

Muscat: Oman Air announced on Wednesday, February 27 that it was suspending all its flights to Pakistan until further notice.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the Sultanate's national carrier said, "Oman Air regrets to inform its esteemed guests on the suspension of its flights to Pakistan, namely Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore until further notice as notified by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, since Pakistan airspace is closed for commercial airliners.

"All guests are requested to contact Oman Air city offices or Oman Air call centre on +968-2453 1111 for further information. Oman Air's primary concern is and has always been the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew," the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Dubai Airports, the organsiation that operates and managers airports in Dubai, also issued a statement saying that all flights to and from Pakistan were suspended "due to the closure of Pakistani airspace. Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines, control authorities & air traffic controllers to minimise operational impact & customer inconvenience."
