Jindal Shadeed receives major business award

Muscat: Oman’s Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel was among 18 companies that were named winners of the 10th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award during a prestigious ceremony hosted in Dubai.
The awards ceremony, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The MRM Business Award, a member of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, was initiated in 2005 to recognise and celebrate the success of organisations that contribute to the sustainable development of economies within the UAE and GCC.
Commenting on the conclusion of two award cycles, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the panel of judges for the MRM Business Awards, said the award reflects the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to encourage companies to make business and innovation excellence a major part of their organisational culture.
Al Mansoori noted that growing participation in the 10th cycle of the MRM Business Award reflected the strong commitment to enhancing business competitiveness among companies in the region, adding that the awards are the highest level of recognition for business excellence that companies in the region can aspire for.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber, revealed that more than 1,800 companies and institutions have benefited from the MRM Business Award Programme since its inception. He described the MRM Business Award as a catalyst for enhancing business performance at a regional level.
During the ceremony, Al Ghurair announced the launch of the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Customer Excellence Award”, a new award recognising the efforts of outstanding companies and organisations in the UAE and GCC that are adopting innovative strategies to improve customer experiences.
Hamad Buamim, President & CEO of Dubai Chamber and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the MRM Business Award, said: “Over the years, the MRM Business Awards have become benchmarks for business and innovation excellence. The companies that received the prestigious awards this year are driving innovation in a wide range of economic sectors.”
Buamim added that the awards support the Dubai Chamber’s efforts to fulfil the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and lead the business community to a brighter future.
