Muscat: Wilayat Seeb, on Friday, has registered more than 10,000 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health app Tarassud.
A total of 43,929 cases are now registered in Oman with 26,169 having recovered from the novel coronavirus.
The Wilayat of Seeb has recorded more than 35 per cent of all COVID-19 cases in the Muscat Governorate, which has 28,478 cases. More than 5,000 recoveries have been registered in Seeb, which represents 22 per cent of the total recovery in Oman.
The Wilayat of Bausher ranked second on the number of infections in the Governorate of Muscat with a total of 7,800 cases. 3,554 people have also recovered from COVID-19 which is about 14 per cent of the total recovery in the Sultanate.
Muttrah ranked third on the number of infections in Muscat Governorate, and it has a total of 7,498 cases, which is amount 26 per cent of the total cases in Muscat Governorate. Muttrah has registered 5,647 recoveries, which is about 22 per cent of all recoveries in Oman.
Al Amerat has more than 1,000 infections with 986 people have recovered from the novel coronavirus, 831 cases in Wilayat of Muscat and 799 people recovered from coronavirus. Quriyat has the lowest cases of infection in Muscat Governorate, with 409 infection and 190 recoveries.
Muscat Governorate has recorded the highest number of deaths in Oman with a total number of 127. 48 of them in Wilayat of Seeb, 42 deaths in Muttrah, 23 deaths in Bausher. 8 in Al Amerat and 6 deaths in Wilayat of Muscat.
