COVID-19: Here are the conditions blood donation camps need to follow

Muscat: The Ministry of Health announced conditions for organising blood donation camps.

The Department of Blood Banking Services (DBBS) said that blood donation campaigns can be organised if the precautionary recommendations are followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The procedures include providing a suitable place which is clean, spacious with good ventilation, and setting up a mechanism to fill forms to avoid crowding. It is preferable to set donors' dates or organise them so that it does not exceed 8 donors every half an hour.

"Advising donors to follow ways to prevent infection and commit to cleaning hands before and after donating blood is necessary," DBBS added.
