Dhofar Governorate records more than 100 new COVID-19 cases on Monday

Muscat: The Governorate of Dhofar recorded more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, according to data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus infections in there since last week.
Statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that Muscat Governorate had registered the maximum number of new cases on Monday, with 430, and one death in Baushar was registered today. A total of 26,335 cases of COVID-19 have been registered from the beginning of the pandemic.
North Batinah, overall, has the highest number of COVID-19 infections in Oman after Muscat, which has 3,451 cases of infections, while four patients have died today, two from Sohar, one each from Saham and Al Khabourah. The total number of deaths from the disease is 16.
In the Southern Dhofar Governorate, 105 more people tested positive for the disease. The total number of cases in the governorate is 748. 56 new cases were registered in South Al Batinah, taking the total to 3,157 cases.
In the Al Dhahirah Governorate, 44 new COVID-19 patients have been registered. A total of 458 people have so far caught the disease. In the interior Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, 37 new cases have come to light. A total of 1,724 cases have been recorded in the governorate.
In Eastern South Al Sharqiyah, 867 people have contracted COVID-19 so far, with one more new death registered taking the number of COVID-19 deaths in the governorate from this disease to five. North Al Sharqiyah has registered 11 new cases, where a total of 674 people have so far been infected.
No new cases were registered in the two remaining governorates: Central Al Wusta and Musandam. Central Al Wusta has so far reported only five cases of infection and Musandam has 16 cases.
