Ministry assures of availability of food, consumer goods in Dhofar

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has assured that various foodstuffs and consumer goods are available in all shops and commercial centres of Dhofar governorate.

The ministry said in a statement: "MoCI with the cooperation of the concerned government organisations, is closely monitoring the markets to ensure supplies of the items in the market and stability of prices. This is because the ministry wants to avoid spreading of the COVID-19 and also guarantee availability of food items and consumer goods in all markets of the Sultanate. Efforts are also being made so that there is no shortage of these items in the markets of the governorate during the lockdown which began on June 13 and will continue till July 3."

Jamal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Hinai, Director General of Commerce and Industry in Dhofar governorate, urged the consumers to follow "Shop from Your Home" initiative, which the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has launched in cooperation with Al Rafd Fund and the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyadah), on Twitter.
