Muscat: The tender for the remaining three parts of the Adam-Haima-Thumrait carriageway road project has been awarded.
In line with the government’s efforts to strengthen the logistics sector and stimulate economic, tourism, and social movement, the tender for the remaining three parts of the Adam-Haima-Thumrait Dual carriageway project has been awarded.
This project will facilitate the smooth flow of traffic to and from the governorates of Al Dakhliyah, Al-Wusta, and Dhofar. The total length of the three parts is 400km, which extends from Haima to Thumrait.
The third part of the Adam-Haima- Thumrait project will start from Haima and end in Maqshan with a total length of 132.5 km. It includes the construction of safe entrances and exits, 16 flyovers, an interchange in Maqshin, 19 side parking, two trucks weighing stations, five rest stops, Royal Oman Police parking lots, and emergency exits.
The fourth part starts from Maqshin, passing through Qatbet and ends in Doka with a length of 135 km. It includes the establishment of safe entry and exit entrances to and from and from the regions, 14 flyovers, 27 side parking, three rest stops, parking lots for the Royal Oman Police, and emergency exits.
The fifth part starts from Dokah and ends in Thumrait with a length of 132.7km. It includes the establishment of safe entry and exit entrances to and from and from the regions, 20 flyovers, 16 side parking, a weigh station for trucks, four rest stops, parking lots for the Royal Oman Police, and emergency exits.
The 717.5 km Adam-Haima-Thumrait dual carriageway road project is a major strategic project implemented by the government represented by the Ministry of Transport. It is also a significant and rapid artery that links the sources of economic and urban growth in the Sultanate. Not to mention, its contribution in keeping up with the steady increase in traffic and bolsters the various development sectors in the Sultanate.
