Muscat: Muttrah has posted a recovery rate of nearly 70 per cent among its COVID-19 patients, making it the wilayat with the highest number of recoveries in Muscat.
Data from the Ministry of Health’s Tarassud app shows that the recovery rate in the wilayat stood at 69.64 per cent.
The total number of reported cases in Muttrah, as of 22 June, was 6,509, while recoveries reported stood at 4,533.
In contrast, Seeb and Bausher, which have also reported high numbers of COVID-19 cases in Oman, had significantly lower rates of recovery.
There were 7,601 cases reported so far in Seeb, of which 3,533 have recovered, pointing to a recovery rate of 46.4 per cent in that wilayat.
Similarly, in Bausher the number of cases stood at 6,105. 2,800 infected people have recovered with the recovery percentage reaching 48.
In three other wilayats of the Governorate of Muscat, the reported number of COVID cases was markedly lower.
Amerat has recorded 1,187 cases so far, with recoveries standing at 520 (43.8 per cent), while in Quriyat, only 210 cases have been reported, among whom 80 have recovered, resulting in a recovery rate of 38 per cent.
Overall, in Oman, a total of 31,076 cases of the coronavirus have been reported so far.
Of these, 16,408 have recovered, while 14,531 are still sick. 137 people have lost their lives due to the pandemic.
