Muscat shares end lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index closed at 3,509.93 points, down 0.44 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.51 per cent at 515.20 points.
Al Madina Investment up 4.17 per cent was the top gainer while Oman Fisheries down 7.61 per cent was the top loser. Al Omaniya Financial was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Al Anwar Ceramic Perpetual Bonds was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 384 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.4 million, with more than 12.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 14 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR195,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR160,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR34,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,584.51 points, down 0.23 per cent. Al Madina Investment and Bank Muscat were up by 4.17 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Investment, HSBC Oman, Bank Nizwa and Gulf Investment were down by 6.38 per cent, 2.2 per cent, 2.06 per cent and 1.59 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,993.20 points, down 0.58 per cent. Oman Cement was up by 0.88 per cent. Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down by 7.61 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 1.22 per cent before closing at 1,562.86 points. Renaissance Service, National Gas, Al Batinah Power, Omantel and Ooredoo were down by 7.61 per cent, 4.88 per cent, 2.96 per cent, 0.62 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively.
