Muscat: In a case that seems to be the largest seizure in recent years, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested an international smuggler of Asian nationality.
A statement issued online by ROP stated, "In a case that is the largest in recent years, the General Department for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested an international smuggler of Asian nationality, and seized 350 kilograms of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The accused was planning to promote some of them in Oman and smuggle the rest to other countries."
The ROP confirmed that it continues to confront drug traffickers and cut the road ahead for them. ROP also appreciated the efforts made by citizens and residents to combat this scourge through cooperation. ROP asked people to inform them about any such activity by calling the hotline number (1444).
