Muscat: The highest number of new COVID-19 cases, on Friday, were registered in the Wilayat of Seeb, according to the Ministry of Health app, Tarassud.
The Sultanate registered 852 new cases of coronavirus, taking the total number of cases to 27,670 with 13,974 having recovered from the novel coronavirus.
The Sultanate registered, on Friday, six new deaths taking the death toll to 125, including 94 deaths in Muscat Governorate with 13 deaths in South Al Batinah Governorate. North Al Batinah Governorate reported seven deaths, three deaths in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and Buraimi Governorate has recorded two deaths. Al Dakhliya Governorate has recorded three deaths and one death each in Governorate of Dhofar, Al Dhahirah and North Al Sharqiyah.
Muscat Governorate reported more than 500 fresh cases on Friday, 215 of them were in Wilayat of Seeb, 175 in Baushar. 92 in Muttrah and 24 in Al Amerat. The Wilayat of Muscat has 15 new cases while Quriyat has six cases. With 587 new recoveries, the total number of patients who have successfully battled COVID-19 has reached 10,131 in the governorate.
Elsewhere in the Sultanate, North Al Batinah registered 111 new cases on Friday and now has a total of 1,936 cases. 461 of these are in the wilayat of Suwaiq while 661 are in Sohar. Shinas has recorded 183 cases while Saham reports 295 cases. Liwa has 197 cases while Al Khaburah has 139. North Al Batinah Governorate has recorded 1,220 recoveries.
South Al Batinah registered 85 fresh cases of Covid19, where Wilayat of Barka has 62 new cases while Rustaq has 14 new cases. Musannah has 2 and Al Awabi has 4 new cases. Wadi Al Malawi has 3 new cases. South Al Batinah Governorate reported 950 recoveries.
South Al Sharqiyah Governorate registered 12 new cases, 8 of which are from the Wilayat of Sur, a single new case in Jalan Bani Buhasaan and Al Kamil Wal Wafi has been reported 3 new cases. South Al Sharqiyah recorded 371 recoveries.
North Al Sharqiyah Governorate registered 24 new cases to reach a total of 424 cases. 222 cases are in Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, 40 in Bidiyah, 58 cases in Dima Wattayeen, 11 in Wadi Bani Khalid, 70 Ibra and 23 cases in the Wilayat of Al Qabil.
Al Dakhiliyah governorate, which has a total of 1,039 cases, registered 29 new cases today. 234 cases are in the Wilayat of Samail, 229 in Nizwa, 186 in Bidbid, 144 in Izki, 96 in Bahla, 67 in Adam, 37 in Manah and 46 cases in the Wilayat of Al Hamra.
The number of cases in Buraimi Governorate has reached 292 out of which 284 are in the wilayat of Buraimi and 8 cases in Mahdah. Buraimi Governorate has reported today a single recovery.
In Dhofar Governorate, which has a total of 300 cases, 271 are from Wilayat of Salalah, 14 cases from Shaleem and Alhalaniyat and 2 cases in Wilayat of Mirbat. Al Mazyona has recorded 11 cases. The total number of recoveries in Dhofar Governorate has reached 48.
Al Dhahirah Governorate has registered 9 new cases of which 5 new case is in Yunqul and 4 in Ibri. Al Dhahirah Governorate registered 152 recoveries.
Al Wusta Governorate has recorded 958 cases, including 921 in the Wilayat of Duqm, 45 in the Wilayat of Haima and a single case of COVID-19 in Al Jazer. 48 recoveries have been registered in Al Wusta Governorate. Musandam Governorate has so far recorded the lowest cases of infection, with three cases of infection and 9 recoveries.
