A citizen sentenced to three years in jail

Muscat: A citizen was sentenced to three years in prison for posting tweets that created discord and hatred among the people of the country.

The Court of Appeal condemned the citizen for spreading hatred and sowing seeds of discord among the people of the homeland via tweets.

The Public Prosecution said in a statement, "The court sentenced the defendant to three years in prison for a felony "to provoke and incite hatred and division among the country's population.

The prosecution ordered to confiscate the accused's phone, close his account on the social media platform (Twitter) and publish the verdict.
