Isolated rainfall predicted over parts of Oman

Muscat: There are chances of isolated rainfall over the Al Hajar Mountains and it's adjoining areas, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said on Sunday .

In its weather forecast, PACA said: “Clear to partly cloudy skies along coastal areas of Dhofar and mainly clear skies over rest of the Sultanate, with isolated rain over Al Hajar Mountains and adjacent wilayats during afternoon. Chances of late night to early morning low clouds along parts of the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea."

A statement issued online by PACA said: “The aerial photograph shows high cloud flow over parts of the governorates of Muscat, North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Wusta and Dhofar, with low cloud flow over parts of the Arabian Sea coast."

The expected maximum and minimum temperatures will be 39 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees in Muscat, 33 degrees and 27 degrees in Salalah, 42 degrees and 32 degrees in Khasab, 37 degrees and 32 degrees in Sohar, 42 degrees and 31 degrees in Sur, 47 degrees and 32 degrees in Nizwa, 48 degrees and 35 degrees in Ibri and 47 degrees and 32 degrees in Buraimi.

The Oman News Agency (ONA), said: “The highest temperature expected on Sunday is 49 degrees in Fahud and the lowest is 23 degrees in Jabal Shams.”
