
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has reduced the fee for machines which scan identity and residence card data for government and private institutions from OMR 30 to OMR 15.
His Excellency Lt. General Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shariqi, Inspector General of police and customs, issued Resolution No. 158/2020 amending some provisions of the executive regulations of the Civil Status Law. The new fee is as follows:
Government sector / fees: OMR 15 annually for each computer device, and a maximum of OMR 2,500.
Private Sector / Fees: OMR 15 annually for each computer device, and a maximum of OMR 15,000.
The previous decision No 2019/128 had set a fee of OMR 30 to provide a service to scan the card data for each device.
