Muscat: On Saturday, out of the total of 1,006 new COVID-19 cases reported in the Sultanate, 646 were registered in Muscat governorate alone according to the Ministry of Health's Tarassud app. A total of 22,077 cases are now registered in Oman with 7,530 having recovered from the novel coronavirus.
Saturday also saw the recording of 3 deaths, taking the toll from COVID-19 to 99 so far. 77 of these patients were from Muscat governorate while South Al Batinah recorded 8 deaths. North Al Batinah has seen 6 deaths so far while 3 patients have died in South Al Shaqiyah. There have been two deaths in Al Dakhiliyah while Dhofar, Al Dhahirah and North Al Sharqiyah have recorded one death each.
Within Muscat governorate, there are 280 new cases in the wilayat of Seeb, 172 in Baushar, 98 in Muttrah and 66 in Al Amerat. The Wilayat of Muscat has 18 new cases while Quriyat has 12. With four new recoveries, the total number of patients who have successfully battled COVID-19 has reached 4,990 in the governorate.
Elsewhere in the Sultanate, North Al Batinah registered 80 new cases on Saturday and now has a total of 1,461 cases. 363 of these are in the wilayat of Suwaiq while 467 are in Sohar. Shinas has recorded 159 cases while Saham reports 226 cases. Liwa has 146 cases while Al Khaburah has 100. In South Al Batinah, the total cases has reached 1,442 with 69 new cases recorded on Saturday. Wilayat Barka has 666 while Rustaq has 210 cases. Musannah has 309 and Al Awabi has 103 cases. Wilayat Nakhal has 80 while Wadi Al Malawi has 74 cases.
South Al Sharqiyah governorate registered 12 new cases, 7 of which are from the wilayat of Jalan Bani Buali, 4 from Sur and one new case in Jalan Bani Buhasaan. North Al Sharqiyah governorate registered 32 new cases to reach a total of 304 cases. 160 cases are in Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, 35 in Bidiyah, 41 in Dima Wattayeen, 6 in Wadi Bani Khalid, 50 Ibra and 12 cases in the wilayat of Al Qabil.
Al Dakhiliyah governorate, which has a total of 817 cases, has registered 27 new cases on Saturday. 189 cases are in the Wilayat of Samail, 183 in Nizwa, 139 in Bidbid, 123 in Izki, 71 in Bahla, 65 in Adam, 19 in Manah and 28 cases in the wilayat of Al Hamra. The number of cases in Buraimi governorate has reached 226 out of which 218 are in the wilayat of Buraimi and 8 cases in Mahdah.
In Dhofar governorate, which has a total of 81 cases, 72 are from wilayat of Salalah and 7 cases from Shaleem and Alhalaniyat. The wilayat of Mazyona has reported two cases. Al Dhahirah governorate has registered 3 new cases of which one new case is in Ibri and two new cases are in the wilayat of Yunqul. Al Wusta governorate has recorded 759 cases, including 716 in the wilayat of Duqm and 43 in Wilayat of Haima.
Musandam governorate has so far recorded the lowest cases of infection, with a single case of infection and 8 recoveries.
