Ministry defines rules for transporting goods to Dhofar

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce and industry has set several rules for companies that transport goods to Dhofar Governorate.

A statement issued online by the Ministry said, "With the decision of the Supreme Committee to seal Dhofar Governorate from 12.00 pm on Saturday June 13 till Friday, July 3, the following rules will be applicable to ensure the availability of food and consumer goods:

Only drivers can enter without escorts. The driver cannot be in contact with others from the governorate. He will remain in the truck during the offloading process.

Upon completion of offloading of goods, the driver must exit the governorate immediately within 24 hours and must comply with all precautionary measures set by competent authorities.

This include hand hygiene, social distancing, wearing of masks and sneezing and coughing in a safe manner.

"In the event that these precautionary measures are not adhered to, the Ministry will take the necessary legal measures against the company," the statement added.
