Muscat: More than 75 per cent of the coronavirus cases which were recorded today are from Muscat Governorate, according to the Ministry of Health app Tarassud.
The number of cases in the Sultanate reached more than 16,000 with 866 new cases being registered on Sunday. The total number of recoveries reached 3,451 and 75 deaths were reported.
The total COVID-19 cases in the Governorate of Muscat has reached 12818 cases, including 623 new cases with 4,808 in Muttrah and 3,871 cases in the wilayat of Seeb, the wilayat of Baushar registered 3, 357 cases and 525 cases were registered in wilayat of Al Amerat. Wilayat of Muscat has 181 cases and wilayat of Quriyat has 76. The Muscat governorate has so far recorded 60 deaths and 1,958 recoveries.
North Al Batinah governorate registered 59 new cases taking the total to 1,104 cases, 276 of them have been registered in wilayat of Suwaiq, 351 cases in wilayat of Sohar, and 124 in Shinas. Saham reported 162 cases, wilayat of Liwa has 121 cases and 70 cases were registered in wilayat of Al Khaburah. North Al Batinah recorded 349 recoveries and four deaths.
South Al Batinah governorate, which has 1,036 cases, registered 46 new cases, 454 in wilayat of Barka, 149 cases in wilayat of Rustaq, 233 in wilayat of Musannah, 88 in wilayat of Al Awabi, 66 in wilayat of Nakhal and 46 cases in wilayat of Wadi Al Malawi have been registered so far. The South Al Batinah governorate recorded 377 recoveries and 6 deaths.
South Al Sharqiyah governorate registered 5 new cases with a total reaching 395 cases, 246 of them have been registered in wilayat of Jalan Bani Buali, 92 in wilayat of Sur, 45 cases in wilayat if Al Kamil Wal Wafi, 10 in wilayat of Jalan Bani Buhassan, and 2 cases in wilayat of Masirah. South Al Sharqiyah governorate has so far recorded 215 recoveries and 3 deaths.
North Al Sharqiyah governorate registered 11 new cases with a total of 220 cases, 118 in wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, 23 cases in wilayat of Bidiyah, 25 cases in wilayat of Dima Wattayeen, 4 in Wadi Bani Khalid, 40 in wilayat of Ibra, and 10 cases in wilayat of Al Qabil have been registered. North Al Sharqiyah governorate reported 49 recoveries.
Al Dakhiliyah governorate, which has a total of 637 cases, has registered 32 new cases, with 172 cases in wilayat of Samail, 135 in wilayat of Nizwa, 101 in wilayat of Bidbid, 94 in wilayat of Izki, 55 in wilayat of Bahla, 62 in wilayat of Adam, 8 in wilayat of Manah, and 10 cases in wilayat of Al Hamra. Al Dakhiliyah governorate reported 340 recoveries.
The number of cases in Buraimi governorate reached 175, with 156 cases in Al Dhahirah governorate and one death. 54 confirmed infections in Dhofar governorate and one death has also been recorded.
Al Wusta governorate has 287 of coronavirus cases and Musandam governorate recorded the lowest cases of infection, with only 2 cases and 7 recoveries.
