Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has confirmed that mask prices have not changed since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic and invited everyone to cooperate and report any increase in prices that they notice.
PACP said in a statement: "The prices of masks have not changed since the beginning of the crisis and after the decision of the Supreme Committee to compel the wearing of masks, the prices were monitored."
The statement added, "The authority calls on everyone to report any increase in the cost of the masks compared to the beginning of the crisis, not before it. After checking import prices, the Ministry of Health allows the supplier to add 15 per cent over the cost of the commodity and the distributor is allowed to add 15 per cent as well and any further increase will result in legal measures."
