Muscat: H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health attended the daily video-conference meeting of the Directorate General of Diseases Surveillance & Control (DGDSC) in the Ministry of Health (MOH) with the Departments of Diseases Surveillance & Control of the Governorates on Saturday.
The meeting is held to follow up the cases registered everyday in the Sultanate’s Governorates, detect the contacts and recognise any other common source among cases between the Governorates. It also seeks to identify the latest developments in tracing process and pandemic response at the central and Governorates levels, as well as monitor the epidemiological situation of the disease and the effectiveness of precaution measures and physical distance guidance.
Furthermore, the meeting followed up on the epidemiological investigation process in order to identify any increase in the number of cases related to activities that have been opened and recognised the commitment of the service institutions and firms to the precautionary measures and physical distance guidance.
The meeting also highlighted the challenges and discussed them in light of the governorates’ experiences and will develop recommendations for the upcoming phases according to the epidemiological situation developments.
