Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested an expat on the charges of publishing a rumour.
A statement issued online by ROP said, "The General Department of Criminal Investigations has arrested an Asian national after the individual published a rumour on a social media site about the Sultanate allowing social gatherings. The published video of people gathered in closed places was an older one."
