Government quashes rumours of side effects from COVID-19 tests

Muscat: The Government Communications Centre (GC) has denied rumours of side effects from taking a COVID-19 test.

The GC said in a statement: "It is not true that medical testing conducted to detect COVID-19 has effects on the health of those being tested."

The statement added, "The government of Oman provides free testing and treatment to all citizens and residents in the Sultanate in accordance with the international health standards adopted in this field."
