The MSM30 index closed at 3,450.89 points, down 0.43 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended lower by 0.24 per cent at 516.98 points. Oman United Insurance, up 1.29 per cent was the top gainer while United Power, down 9.44 per cent was the top loser. Alizz Islamic Bank was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Oman Flour Mills was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 347 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.00 million, with more than 3.89 million shares changing hands. Out of 33 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 15 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR247,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR194,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR53,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,388.48 points, down 0.50 per cent. Oman United Insurance closed 1.29 per cent up from the financial sector stocks. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Anwar Holding, Al Omaniya Financial Services, and Gulf Investment Services Holding were down by 8.7 per cent, 3.64 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.67 per cent, and 1.85 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,044.12 points, down 0.08 per cent. Oman Flour Mills closed 0.49% up from among the industrial sector stocks. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Raysut Cement were down by 0.73 per cent and 0.58 per cent respectively.
Services index was down 0.62 per cent before closing at 1,640.80 points. Ooredoo Oman closed 0.50 per cent up from among the services sector stocks. United Power, Al Jazeera Services, Sembcorp Salalah, Al Batinah Power, and National Gas were down by 9.44 per cent, 6.25 per cent, 3.2 per cent, 1.69 per cent, and 1.1 per cent respectively.
