Muscat: An inspection campaign was carried out by Muscat Municipality in Muttrah in commercial activities related to public health, including bakeries and restaurants, to ensure that they adhere to necessary health requirements for preparing foodstuff.
The Municipality as a result issued a fine against one activity and closed a bakery and a restaurant for failing to adhere to health requirements.
The regulation of public health activities emphasised adherence to some guidelines and requirements for both service providers and clients. These include disinfection of all surfaces frequently, ensuring of proper ventilation, encouragement and practice of social distancing (minimum two metres) and to provide appropriate personal protective equipment to each worker/employee.
Muscat Municipality reaffirms that it will take the necessary legal procedures in accordance with the laws, decisions or recommendations of the Supreme Committee dealing with Covid-19 pandamic.
It also hopes for full cooperation in the maintenance of public health and invites everyone to call the toll free number 1111 for any observations or queries.
