Muscat: Sohar Municipality raids a site which refills onions in unsanitary conditions. It was closed down as it violated the decisions of the Supreme Committee which is dealing with the current COVID-19 crisis.
The municipality said in a statement: "In coordination with the Public Prosecution, the inspection teams raided a farm used by expatriate workers to store, unload and refill the onions at an unlicensed location and did not meet health requirements, violating the terms of local order No. 2000/2 on public health protection, the authority closed the site and took legal action."
In addition, Sohar Municipality closes a commercial establishment for violating the decision of the Supreme Committee and practising an activity that is not exempt from the committee’s decisions and takes the necessary legal measures.
