COVID-19: A total of 2104 cases registered in Muscat

Muscat: Muscat governorate has registered more than 146 new COVID-19 cases which point to a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus infections in the capital on Wednesday.

Statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that it was Muscat governorate that had registered the most number of cases per governorate of Wednesday, with 146. A total of 2104 cases of COVID-19 have been uncovered in Muscat governorate. 1527 of these continue to receive treatment, while 565 have recovered and 12 patients have died from this disease.

South Batinah, overall, has the highest number of COVID-19 infections in Oman after Muscat, which has registered 9 new cases. Where South Al Batinah governorate has 285 cases of infections. Among these 194 continue to remain infected and 91 people have recovered.

In North Al Batinah, two more people were found to test positive for the disease. There are a total of 135 cases in the governorate, among whom 46 have recovered and one patient has died from this disease. Two new cases were registered in South Al Sharqiyah, with 79 of the 134 cases in total continuing to receive treatment, while the rest have recovered from the disease.

In Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, six new COVID-19 patients have been registered. A total of 127 people have so far caught the disease, and 82 of them have recovered. In the Dhahirah Governorate, One new case has come to light. A total of 51 cases have been recorded in the governorate.

North Al Sharqiyah, one new case has found to test positive for the disease. There are a total of 36 cases in the governorate, among whom 22 have recovered.

No new cases were registered in the four remaining governorates: Dhofar, Musandam, Buraimi and Al Wusta. Both Buraimi and Musandam have six cases of infection each, among whom four have recovered. In Al Wusta, 2 people have contracted COVID-19 so far, the same as the southern Dhofar region, where a total of 17 people have been infected.
