Muscat records only 15 new COVID-19 cases on Monday

Muscat: Muscat has recorded only 15 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, according to data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant decrease in new cases of coronavirus infections in the capital since last week.
Statistics made available on Tarassud, the coronavirus monitoring app launched by the ministry, showed that it was South Al Batinah that had registered the most number of cases per governorate of Monday, with 16. A total of 213 cases of COVID-19 have been uncovered in South Al Batinah. 190 of these continue to receive treatment, while 23 have recovered.
South Batinah, overall, has the highest number of COVID-19 infections in Oman after Muscat, which has 1,464 cases of infections. Among these 1,222 continue to remain infected, while 232 people have recovered and 10 patients have died from the disease.
In North Al Batinah, two more people were found to test positive for the disease. There are a total of 87 cases in the governorate, among whom 31 have recovered. Five new cases were registered in South Al Sharqiyah, with 104 of the 107 cases in total continuing to receive treatment, while the rest have recovered from the disease.
In the interior Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, six new COVID-19 patients have been registered. A total of 87 people have so far caught the disease, and 51 of them have recovered. In the Dhahirah Governorate, six new cases have come to light. A total of 40 cases have been recorded in the western governorate.
No new cases were registered in the four remaining governorates: North Al Sharqiyah, Musandam, Buraimi and Dhofar. Both Buraimi and Musandam have five cases of infection each, among whom three have recovered. In North Al Sharqiyah, 27 people have contracted COVID-19 so far, and eight of them are reported to have recovered, the same as the southern Dhofar region, where a total of 14 people have been infected.
