NEW DELHI: The average doubling rate of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in India has further improved to 9.1 days from around 7.5 days a couple of days, said an official statement issued on Saturday.
From 8.00 a.m. on Friday till 8.00 a.m. Saturday, India recorded a six-percent growth in new cases, which is the lowest daily growth rate recorded since the country crossed 100 cases, added the statement.
It further stated that production of medical equipment within the country has been ramped up. There are around 104 domestic manufacturers of personal protective equipment (PPE) kits and three of N95 masks in the country, added statement.
As of now, the death rate is around 3.1 percent while the recovery rate is more than 20 percent, said the statement.
