2,500 Pakistani nationals in Oman wish to return to their country

Muscat: Around 2,500 Pakistani nationals across the Sultanate have requested at the Embassy of Pakistan to be returned back to their country. This was revealed by His Excellency KK Ahasan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan in Oman, in an exclusive interview with the Times of Oman. "Earlier this month, we at the Embassy of Pakistan in Oman announced that Pakistani nationals wishing to return can get in touch with us. In this regard, we started collecting data of people who would want to travel to Pakistan considering the availability of any special flights. "So far, we have received around 2,500 requests from the nationals and we will accommodate them as soon as we get the clearance from both respected governments of Oman and Pakistan," Wagan said. He added that: "the number of requests shows variation in reasons ranging from family emergencies to expiration of Visa visas among others." In the first week of April, the Embassy issued a statement calling upon its nationals who wish to return to Pakistan to fill out a performa issued by them. "The Embassy of Pakistan, Muscat, is collecting data of people who want to travel to Pakistan if any special flights are arranged from Oman. All concerned are requested to kindly fill the performa and send back at WhatsApp number 00968 91373303 or at the email addresses of the mission at [email protected]/[email protected]," the statement read. It also added that the performa for repatriation by special flight consists of the individual’s name, passport number, type of visa, number of travellers, destination city, reason for travel, phone number and email address.
