Oman's share index ends marginally higher

The MSM30 index closed at 3,542.37 points, up 1.46 per cent. The Sharia Index closed up by 0.33 per cent at 507.23 points. Al Madina Investments, up 9.09 per cent, was the top gainer while Vision Insurance, down 8.89 per cent was the top loser. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 467 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.08 million, with more than 7.57 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 25 advanced, 6 declined and 8 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR382,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR192,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR190,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,561.46 points, up 1.32 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, National Bank of Oman, Al Anwar Holding, and Gulf Investment Services Holding were up by 9.09 per cent, 4.76 per cent, 4.49 per cent, 3.95 per cent, and 3.28 per cent respectively. Vision Insurance and Ominvest were down by 8.89 per cent and 0.62 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,883.34 points, down 0.88 per cent. Galfar Engineering, Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Gulf International Chemicals were up by 5.77 per cent, 4.42 per cent, 2.38 per cent, and 1.12 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Oman Cement were down by 1.16 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 1.19 per cent before closing at 1,736.21 points. Phoenix Power, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, Muscat Gases, and Omantel were up by 5.88 per cent, 3.37 per cent, 3.36 per cent, 3.23 per cent, and 3.23 per cent respectively. Sohar Power and SMN Power Holding were down by 7.14 per cent and 2.94 per cent respectively.
