Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced the arrest of an expat suspected for the murder of a citizen in south Al Sharqiyah governorate as well as on charges of wounding a woman.
The ROP said in a statement: "South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Department arrested an Asian national on charges of murdering a citizen in wilayat of Masirah and seriously wounding a woman."
The police confirmed that legal procedures against him are under way.
The ROP confirmed yesterday that a murder had occurred in wilayat Masirah, in Al Sharqiyah, after news was reported on social media.
The arrest of the murderer took place within about 24 hours, as the police reported the murder on Sunday and announced the arrest of the killer at 12 noon today.
