Muscat: New facilities have been provided to extend the period of free storage for shipments to the cargo terminal of Muscat International Airport, in order to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Transport said: "Transom SATS Cargo announces to all importers and agents the extension of the storage free period for cargo."
"The new free period for general cargo is 96 hours instead of 48 hours and the new free period for perishable cargo and dangerous goods is 72 hours instead of 24 hours," the statement added.
Transom SATS pointed out that these changes will be valid until May 15.
