Armed forces help set up accommodation for health workers in Oman

Muscat: To ensure that health workers treating COVID-19 patients in Oman have access to good accommodation, the Sultan’s Armed Forces have been equipping them with the items required to meet their needs.

This comes as part of the “Sultan's Armed Forces plans to support national efforts reduce the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak,” according to the Ministry of Defence. “The Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Navy of Oman and engineers from the Ministry of Defence have provided and transported various sets of support and backup equipment, as well as the necessary requirements to equip the facilities that will provide accommodation and relief in Muscat Governorate.”

“These procedures aim to reinforce the efforts of the healthcare sector in the Sultanate to limit the spread of COVID 19, which will help support health measures for the medical sector and other relevant authorities,” added the ministry, which has also deployed its engineering corps to activate precautionary and preventive measures within the framework of their contribution to limit the spread of the epidemic.

The Sultan's Armed Forces will continue to provide support to the relevant authorities and institutions in implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19.
