Temporary permission granted to import some goods into Oman

Muscat: The Government has granted temporary permission to import food products, health items and goods into Oman without meeting certain criteria.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said, “Temporary permission to import food products, health items and goods without information printed in Arabic, as long as all explanatory data is written in English with the option of adding another language."

According to the ministerial decision, "It is prohibited to import food products, health materials and goods that violate the approved standard specifications and there will be a fine of no more than OMR 1,000 for anyone who violates this decision. The financial penalty is doubled in case of repeated violations."

This decision will be implemented from the second day of its publication.
