The MSM30 index closed at 3,553.91 points, down 0.38 per cent from Monday’s close. The Sharia Index closed up 0.09 per cent at 508.79 points. Al Madina Takaful, up 3.03 per cent, was the top gainer while Majan College, down 9.71 per cent was the top loser. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as turnover.
A total number of 512 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.12 million with more than 9.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 14 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR696,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR672,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR24,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,643.73 points, down 0.35 per cent. Al Madina Takaful, Ominvest, National Bank Of Oman, Ahli Bank, and DIDIC were up by 3.03 per cent, 1.78 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.73 per cent, and 0.36 per cent respectively. Bank Dhofar, HSBC Bank Oman, Sohar International Bank, Bank Nizwa, and Bank Muscat were down by 3.09 per cent, 1.83 per cent, 1.19 per cent, 1.11 per cent, and 1.06 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,949.45, and lost 0.30 per cent from Monday’s closing. There were no gainers from the Industrial sector. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Gulf International Chemicals, and Galfar Engineering were down by 2.34 per cent, 2.22 per cent, and 2.17 per cent respectively.
The Services Sector Index was down 0.19 per cent before closing at 1,677.67 points. Muscat Gases and Ooredoo were up by 0.59 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Majan College, Phoenix Power, Al Batinah Power, Muscat City Desalination, and OIFC were down by 9.71 per cent, 2 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.87 per cent, and 1.14 per cent respectively.
