Oman's health ministry issues statement on 'Air Doctor'

Muscat: Noting that a new solution called 'Air Doctor' was being increasingly used by people in Oman, the Ministry of Health has said that the product is not scientifically proven to protect against bacteria and viruses transmitted through the air.

The ministry said in a notification: "The General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control of the Ministry of Health notes that a product under the name 'Air Doctor' has been circulated in the form of a card which carries medical claims that are not scientifically proven in terms of protection against bacteria and viruses transmitted through the air."

"Note that this product is not approved by the Ministry or any of the international regulatory authorities, therefore it is not recommended to use it since there is no evidence to prove the mentioned allegations and the safety and security of use," the Ministry added.
