Oman establishes fund for health services support

Muscat: An Endowment Fund to support health services has been established by a ministerial decision issued by His Excellency the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.

The ministerial decision said: "The fund will adhere to the legal provisions and aim to achieve social solidarity and social responsibility towards the health of the individual and society and to find various and different sources to support health services."

According to the decision, the fund aims to attract donation funds for health services and to promote individual and community health.

"By investing the fund’s money, the returns on investments to be used to finance treatment, establishing and operating hospitals and health centers, buying medicines, ambulances and medical equipment," the decision added.
