Muscat: In line with its commitment to the safety and well-being of its customers and employees, Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, has been working in alignment with local and global actions that are being taken to prevent the spread of the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).
The bank has implemented the measures announced by the Supreme Committee for dealing with COVID-19 and also those by the regulators to ensure the safest possible work environment and to prevent the spread of the virus. The bank is also taking great care to ensure that operations continue uninterrupted and banking services remain accessible to all customers even as safety and wellbeing of all remain a top priority.
Bank Muscat’s business continuity plan (BCP) is aimed at ensuring that the bank’s services are readily available to all its customers and partners in Oman and around the globe. The bank has already implemented preventive measures recommended by local health authorities and the best practices as per our BCP to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of both our valued customers and employees. A COVID 19 Committee was set up to plan and execute needed precautionary measures while business continuity plans have also been initiated.
Regular deep cleaning and sanitisation of the head office and branches, provision of hand sanitisers to employees, bank branches and buildings as well as providing masks and gloves to concerned staff dealing with currency notes etc., checking of body temperatures of visitors and employees entering its premises are some of the important measures that have been implemented. Regular updates are being provided to the staff and customers on the prevention of COVID-19 through several mediums including emails, social media and SMSes. The bank has cancelled all events, physical onsite learning programmes and business trips until further notice. The bank has also moved some of its employees to its business continuity centre in Ruwi as part of ensuring social distancing and BCP. As the situation continues to evolve, Bank Muscat is keeping a close watch and will be adjusting its operational plans accordingly.
It is important to note that everyone has a role to play in containing the spread of the virus. During this challenging time, Bank Muscat has encouraged all customers to use online and digital banking modes for their safety and wellbeing as well as ensuring business continuity. The bank has reminded its customers that they can easily make use of the wide e-banking channels including mBanking, Internet Banking, the contact centre (on 24795555) or call their relationship managers for support. The bank has recommended minimising of all physical visits to branches as well as the need to minimise physical face-to-face meetings. Ensuring a healthy and safe environment is a shared responsibility and everyone must play their role to make sure of the safety and security of our nation and its people.
