Muscat: Mwasalat has announced a number precautionary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus. This includes suspending daily trips between Muscat and Dubai and checking the temperature of the passengers before they enter the bus.
The National company of transportation Mwasalat said in a statement: "In order to ensure the safety of public transport users, including citizens and residents, and as a precautionary measure taken to limit the spread of coronavirus (Covid 19), the company announces a package of preventive measures."
“All buses will be sterilized on a daily basis. Continuous cleaning of all seats, handles and all bus facilities at the start and end of each trip will be executed. Hand sanitisers will be provided in each bus for individual use,” the statement said.
“Passengers standing on the bus will not be permitted to reduce congestion and the temperature of passengers will be checked before entering the bus.”
“Daily trips to Dubai will be suspended as per the decisions of the Supreme Committee to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. Stops will be limited to the route of Muscat-Dubai, to Shinas only, and will return to the Governorate of Muscat, until further notice,” the statement added.
