Muscat: The Oman Chamber of commerce and Industry (OCCI) has announced that it would exempt businessmen from paying late fees for renewal of membership.
The OCCI said: "In response to requests from a number of businesses in different governorates of the Sultanate, and with the quest of OCCI to serve the best interests of its members, the board of the chambers has decided to exempt members from paying late fees for renewal."
Late fees are due for renewals of membership for years before 1 January 2018. These will be waived off if the renewal fees is paid in full for those years as well as for 2018 and 2019.
According to OCCI this decision was taken to provide best facilities for the the members and to enable them to practice their commercial activities and ensure development of business environment to contribute in the growth of private sector.
The decision will be implemented from Tuesday and will be valid till end of work on Thursday September 10, 2020.
